Christmas!

I got my 2nd ever white christmas!  Pretty excited about it...it has mostly melted in the yard by now...but it was there this morning and that counts!  I got a chance to walk in the snow with my new boots and I say they work pretty well!  Yay for weatherproof boots!

Anyways got Maroon 5 tickets for New Years Eve!!!!!!!!!!!  Beyond excited to see my favorite band!!

Legally Married

Well world my fiance and I did it!  We tied the knot officially and I will be moving up north within the month to start our life together!


While we may have done the nuptials a little earlier than expected....ok almost a year earlier, we will still be having the fancy wedding that I want!


Well thats all for now....have a great Christmas everyone!  I am hoping for snow this weekend!  And there is a good chance i will get it!


Then my bestie is coming into town next week to hang out followed by a great New Year's Eve at a concert for my favorite band!!!!!!!

Yeah....i havent posted in a long time

I spent my thanksgiving in the city of the riverwalk in texas.  I got to try on bridal gowns 2 times and saw my college best friend!  I went to where she works and got to hang out and see what she does.  I also was able to finally ask her to be my bridesmaid for next year and she is excited about the whole ordeal!  Thanksgiving day was spent in Austin and I was able to watch the Macy's day parade, national dog show, and the A&M t.u. game, which will be the last game for these rivals for a long time.


The next week was spent getting up Christmas decorations and preparing for my moms wedding. Then she  got married December 3rd right off the riverwalk.  My fiance was able to come in from Maryland for the weekend and join in in the festivities.  I was also excited to see my brother and sister in law...along with aunts, uncles, and grandparents.  


After the wedding my fiance and I went to see his brother before heading to his parents house for a week.  We have basically chilled out and just watched tv and ate good food.  I have also been to see my cat a few times and now I realize how much I miss not having her with me.  She is so unique.


Anyways that is what I have been up to for a few weeks and next I am going to my grandparents house for a week and then going home for christmas.

beyond bored in texas.....

Need to move elsewhere asap!  I am getting that itch to travel...also i miss being up north...it was refreshing to live somewhere new especially 2 different states in 5 months.  Being in the midwest was great...but now I am looking forward to seeing what the east coast has to offer.  


I dont know if anyone else down south feels this way, but I want the christmas songs to be true...you know dreaming of a white christmas...just like the ones i used to know....OR the weather outside is frightful....let it snow let it snow let it snow........if only that had ever been true in my entire life.  The tallest snowman I have ever made went to my thigh....and melted later that day.  I want a reason for hot chocolate and warm clothes.


I also want seasons not just 10 months of hot and 2 months of mildly cold....i want leaves to change...brisk cool mornings.  I want to see cherry blossoms bloom in D.C. in the spring.  I like that people think its scorching outside at 90 degrees.


I want to be able to travel to other states in less than a day....see the rich history of new england...visit nyc for new years or christmas...go to d.c. to the museums and fourth of july celebrations....go to the beach in maryland or new jersey.


I know the cost of living is higher and I have been told I will hate the snow a week after it starts...but after 22 years of texas i want to explore this country!!!!


Those 5 months away really enlightened me and I have made new friends from different parts of america....looking forward to more soon!

visiting the frister for the weekend!

Yep Im visiting my best friend/ fake sister starting tomorrow!!!  Looking forward to just hanging out on the couch and talking since its been a long time since we have been able to just hang out!  Saw her last week, but both our mothers were around so couldnt hang out too long!


Plus I have something pretty important to tell her...but I wont say it yet on here just in case she reads this before I see her.


Anyways been cleaning out my childhood room with things that I dont need or want anymore.  SO basically that means a lot of books and clothes and toys are leaving to goodwill!  I am not a really sentimental person......so I do this a lot.  Ill come home and be like "mom I dont want this anymore and it turns out its from a great grandmother or something.........oops.  I find ill keep stuff more often if I went somewhere and it was something I bought.  Like things I have from New York, San Diego, Mexico, Austria....that stuff means more to me than family heirlooms....maybe its just me or maybe its the generation I grew up in.


I keep going between getting a retail job or being free for the holidays to go see my family in december....I know I need money, but I havent seen them in a while and who knows when I will see them again....


Still planning on moving up north in january and getting a job there while I wait for zoos to start hiring for spring.  See zoo jobs are hard to come by in the winter because many zoos have limited hours which means limited staff since its so cold, but they prepare for the spring around february.

Im back in texas now from a 3 day trip home including one whole day driving in tx.  And now I have been vegging at home/unpacking and cleaning out my life.....well my closet basically.  Making pigs in a blanket tomorrow yum :)

Halloween Weekend!

In my last 2 days in ohio we tried to cram as much halloween type things in.  Friday night we carved pumpkins.  Saturday we went through a giant corn maze ate at noodles and company and then got prepared for trunk or treat at my brothers church.  Tomorrow begins the long drive back to Texas.

All packed and ready to go...

Yesterday I went to go see a movie:  The 3 Musketeers.  I thought it was good....but i would have rather seen it in 2D.  Paying 3 extra dollars for 3D effects that really don't change the movie at all for me depresses me.  I even had my own glasses and still had to pay.  


I walked around parts of the zoo that I hadnt seen before....yeah after 10 weeks there were still areas foreign to me.  I think I have finally seen everything now.  I am definitely going to miss walking around the zoo and seeing all the animals everyday.  


Today was spent packing and loading my car....with bits of laundry and cleaning in there.

im pretty much addicted....i have watched the show a lot before but i found a channel that plays it all afternoon and most of the night......SCORE!!!!!


It was a pretty slow day today at the zoo.  This was good since I found out we actually hit 12000 people yesterday at the zoo.  I was in the manatee house all morning then in the afternoon i was in lorikeets and then went to manatee house again.


2 work days left...its crazy!

Last day of hallzooween was today

The last Hallzooween weekend was yesterday and today...not sure why they dont do it next weekend when its actually closer to halloween...but whatever. There were over 10000 people at the zoo today!  It was pretty ridiculous trying to walk anywhere at all especially with a cooler.  I was called a giraffe today and then the lady was like oh wait are you a lion? yes yes ma'am i am in fact a lion.  Another person thought my lion ears were horns....intelligence of the masses scares me.  


Helped a lady find her missing child today.....description of child....he is dressed like spiderman.   yeah that basically could have been 200 kids in the zoo.  


I really like hearing what kids think the snake feels like.  Today I got that my ball python felt like buzz lightyear or woody (kids in the same family), I was told that it DOES NOT feel like a basketball, another intern was told one snake felt like a bagel, and another felt like a rock.  Children really have no idea about textures it seems....another child smelled the milksnake I was holding and said it doesnt smell like anything!


Also grown men need to stop acting macho and going straight for the head.....lets teach your children to touch everythings face....i think thats a great idea!


Finally thank you to the parents who make sure their children behave!!!!!!!  I sincerely love that!


Meanwhile...cool costumes....parents were zookeepers children were an elephant, giraffe, and lion.  I also really wish when I was younger that they had full animal outfits.  Skunks, sharks, giraffe, zebra, lions, tigers, penguins, peacocks.....its ADORABLE!!!!  I also really like when the whole family dresses up.  I had a dad and son come to look at the snake who were mario and luigi.

Last week of Cincinnati internship

began today.  4 more work days.  Then its back to Texas with my mom.

wedding venue.....CHECK!

I finally decided on a venue and a date!!!  Now I just need to get some save the date cards sent out!


It was cold, rainy, and windy today....so I impulsively bought a scarf and a hat with ear flaps.  Its kinda like going to the store hungry....I went to the store cold.


I also saw Real Steel with Hugh Jackman today....I really liked the movie!  Also I was asked about Harry Potter information by 2 random ladies in the theater.  Harry Potter really is universal :)
