Birthday

Well today is my 23rd birthday...and I think this is (lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllk,'[;;;;;;;;;;;w33332) ----sorry about that typo, my cat wanted to walk on my keyboard.....anyways I think this is my 1st birthday where I am not as excited as usual.


Maybe its the lack of friends close by....or the lack of things going on in my life....who knows.


Woke up early to go to Petsmart because yesterday I was called and told I got a job as a petcare associate, so I went to fill out some paperwork.  I then came home and my hubby and I got some subway for lunch.  Then we watched some tv.  Because of getting the job I needed some work attire such as khaki pants and black or brown leather shoes.  So I went and reluctantly bought probably the most nonfashionable shoes I have ever owned....even my hiking boots are better in my mind.  Maybe I dont like black leather shoes...who knows.

We walked the mall for a while then drove to Coldstone creamery where we got my ice cream cake.  Then back to base after getting a lotto ticket for the maryland lotto and a slurpee for me.  We decided just to do it since the jackpot is up to 550 million. We also found a bank on base that would take our change bucket...woohoo $30.40 worth of change.


After getting home we decided to make hot dogs and mac and cheese for dinner.  I think its a pretty good dinner...not fancy but good.


So thats how my day went. And on monday I start my new job.

Trying to figure this job thing out

Ok so I did not get either job at the zoo....but the HR person gave my resume to another department and got me an interview to possibly be a zoo camp supervisor for 14-17 year olds for the summer.

Also I applied to work at petsmart.......hey if i cant get a job at the zoo maybe I can work with animals still here.  I applied to either be a dog trainer or a pet care associate


Meeting with the manager tomorrow (Sunday)


So.....thats whats happening as of right now.


Oh and my birthday is this week yay!!!  Please dont let me get any bad news on that day...dont need a repeat of my 21st birthday...at my birthday dinner.  Talk about a downer.

DC 100 years of cherry blossoms

My husband and I drove/rode the tram down to dc today to see the cherry blossoms in peak bloom period.  It was amazing really and I think everyone should try to see it at least once in their life.  We walked around the washington monument, lincoln memorial, jefferson memorial and went the mall area to visit some museums.


I loved going and seeing the city without feeling like we had to hurry like most tourists end up doing.  We had some hot dogs from a street vendor....wandered through the gardens at the smithsonian and even wandered around an event that was being set up on the mall area.  Turns out this weekend it will be an atheist rally.....so thats a little different...and glad we went today and not tomorrow.

Cherry Blossoms are out!

Ok so I haven't been to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms given by Japan 100 years ago.....yet.  But I have gone around and taken pictures of the ones around here.

Here is what I have seen:

Sooooo.....still waiting for a response.....

Yep I am still waiting on a response from the zoo.  I actually called on wednesday and thursday and finally got an answer of...she is still interviewing people.  Now I know this sounds crazy that I called, but at the interview she said she would have made her decision by the end of the week that I interviewed in...which would have been the 9th.  And here's the kicker...she told me to call if I hadn't heard anything by the middle of the week....so now back to today....and I'm still waiting.  I hate nerves....seriously they suck.  I barely eat because I get sick so I have been living off toast, sprite, and rice. woo hoo!


Anyways the weather here has been lovely....mid to high 70s and sunny.  I think its great...my hubby thinks its too hot and humid....what a yankee...jk.  Anyways my cat and I have been venturing outside to explore and I have a clip requested by one of my friends of her walking.  She loves going on walks...she eats the grass...eats the leaves....chatters at birds...stares at dogs barking at her.  I mean she loves it...seriously.


Also we have these crazy trees blooming right now...I am pretty convinced they are cherry blossoms just not to the full pink form.  I have a picture if anyone can tell me what it is that would be great...but I love them!

Interview tomorrow

Kinda nervous, been going over possible questions they could ask all day.  Went over the zoo website yesterday and need to pick out my interview outfit....needs to be nice but not too nice to show im not prissy and can get down and work.  


Here is to hoping it will all be ok and I will get a job!!!!


Hopefully I dont break out in blotchy hives like i used to....
