The great outdoors

So I am less than 2 weeks away from being done with school.......FOREVER...youre excited for me admit it. :)


And with little precious time left until I need to be at my internship my dad and I went in search for outdoorsy clothing today...totally lost on all outdoor things....


I needed full rain gear, hiking boots/socks, underarmour shirt for cold mornings, a leatherman multitool/knife, flashlight, and for my own enjoyment neon animal print socks!!!!
It may sound odd I have no real clothes on the list but I previously bought pants and are being given shirts....so I will be clothed....whew


So basically here is the loot....

I have also decided that being outdoorsy is too expensive....I mean I thought the whole point was to be closer to nature and live off the land...not while doing it in a $70 + raincoat....geeze and I thought my normal coats were too much at $40.

So close but yet so far

Why is it when waiting for an exciting day time seems to drag along so slowly, yet when we look back at our time we always say man time flies by so fast.


Time always seems to be the issue in life whether its not going fast enough in a boring class.....or too fast with ones we love.....time why must you always betray me?


I cant wait for Friday May 13th to get here when I am able to start a new and exciting (hopefully) chapter in my life!!!!!  Times of homework and studying will be in the past and in exchange I will be doing what I love....working with animals all day long!  :)


I am one of those people that have my life planned out to a T and sometimes life gets in the way and messes up my plan....so then I have to make a new one.  I do not like being uncertain about my future and therefore have many options of directions I may go.....but all end up being a zookeeper.


I also want to finally be with the one I love the most my boyfriend of almost 5 and a half years.  He is currently in the Army and has been contracted for another 5 years.  I grew up around an army base and never once thought that being a significant other of an army man would happen to me, but it did and honestly I wouldn't trade my guy for anything.  He's the love of my life and understands me more than I understand myself.

Easter Weekend!

Good Friday was a welcome change in my monotonous life at college....finally a day I didnt have to work or go to school!


I caught the midnight showing of Water for Elephants with a great friend....if you havent seen it you should but be warned....lots of animal cruelty went on in the circus industry back in the day....which is hard for me to watch as a wildlifer.


I also got my car fixed up and ready for the summer!!!!!


Saturday I got to sleep in and went to see African Cats!!!!  I loved it!  The disney nature films are amazing to see and I am so glad more people are seeing the movies that help them become more interested in wildlife and conservation!

My Coops

I want to take this time to talk about my baby........my car of course duh.


I own a beautiful black and blue (like a bruise) Mini Cooper and his name is Coops.  I got it in 2007 and learned to drive a manual to be able to drive it.  I successfully learned to drive it in 2 days, which I think is quite an accomplishment.


I got a mini because of the movie Italian Job........I mean Charlize Theron weaving in and out of traffic....I knew that is exactly what I wanted to be like!!!!  I know most people think that driving is scary and insane and sure I have had a guy squeal like a girl in my car before....which made me feel even better about my driving :)


I even bought the song she drove to in the movie which was the Wreckoning by Boomkat.


Even though its a good driving song my favorite song to drive is.....Tick Tick Boom by the Hives

and here is my favorite car ever!!!!!   Its COOPS!!!!

I feel today is the perfect day to talk about the problems of todays youth.....ok high school and college people.......


As most of you know today is celebrated as being the day to smoke pot....if you didnt know now you do...and I for one do NOT approve of this act.


I honestly think this is the dumbest trend to occur among students, I have seen what happens to people when they do weed and honestly if they think it looks cool they are seriously mistaken...half the time they can barely form a sentence and just talk about how the lights in the room are so pretty....oh yeah talk about cool.


I think this drug should stay illegal and I know most people will say it does no harm to the body or anyone else...but I for one am not ok with people driving around me high.


This is what wikipedia says about the effects:
Aside from a subjective change in perception and, most notably, mood, the most common short-term physical and neurological effects include increased heart rate, lowered blood pressure, impairment of short-term and working memory, psychomotor coordination, and concentration. Long-term effects are less clear.


So basically there is harm....in your brain and i guess thats why people keep using it because they dont have enough brain cells to know any better.


So excuse me for being rude, but I would like to continue being smarter than those using these drugs....and let me know how smoking weed works out for you in the future....

Crazy Long Day

1.  did my presentation in class!!!!!! now all thats left is to write the paper before thursday....gah.


2.  saw a completely smashed up car being towed away today...I hope the person driving was not too badly scraped up because it looked bad....


3.  graduation announcements showed up today!!!!!


4.  Im ready for easter weekend to be here.


5.  Im ready for school to be officially over forever!!!!!

Manic Monday

Its just another manic monday...........ooohh ooh wish it was sunday!!!!


My life consists of class, work, more class, then homework...watched a little Oprah in my spare time.  Tomorrows my term project presentation!!! eek!  Having to practice my presentation tonight to make it close to 7 minutes.  May write some of the actual paper tonight, which is due on thursday....

Now thats not the whole song but you get the point...but no school requires that I do something over the weekend......crazy.  Sundays are my day for laundry, groceries, and reading....and particularly this sunday working on my desert tortoise presentation....fine tuning really.  


on a brighter note.....i got some twizzlers at the store!!! the pull n peel kind which just happens to be the best kind :)  thats right i like to play with my food still.

Cincinnati Zoo called me about my internship application for the summer!!!!!  Even though I already have an internship for the summer that is exciting because it means they like me they really like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Better chance for me to get the position for the fall yay!  I love good unexpected news right after I wake up :) now back to the daily grind of homework.....and I think i want some ravioli for lunch yum.  


Apparently this year I am much more appealing to places than last year....out of 5 places 3 have interviewed, been offered 2 positions, and took one.


Last year out of 5 places 0 accepted me and I worked at a local rehab center for wildlife...heres some pics of animals I worked with.

my first post

Hey new readers.....wherever you are.  This is my attempt at a blog.  My friend convinced me to finally write out things I feel in blog style and my mom thinks it will be good to write down all my adventures because apparently I see things differently than other people.  

So here goes,  Im in my final semester of college and will be moving into.........wait for it............the real world in less than a month.  Exciting? yes.......Scary? maybe.........have any idea what is happening in the fall? ummmm Im gonna wing it :) 

SO instead of doing my term project on the food preferences for desert tortoises (Im a wildlife major so this is normal for me) I decided to make a blog.

I am not technically amazing at computers so right now it may look like crap but hopefully I will learn to figure out fonts and pictures and backgrounds........this is like in high school back in the day when everyone pimped out their myspace pages....lol oh myspace......facebook is better.....
